The Cheese Lady.  Week of October 3

It’s the 8th.  The week filled and finished before I did.

I worked on this. . . but never finished it.

Thanks to everyone who came out today in the cold.

Kath

It has broken.  Yesterday, Wednesday, the weather was hot.  Today, Thursday, the market was freezing.  Reminds me that I’ve been wishing hot weather away.  Next week my sister, Annie and her boyfriend, Gary are headed into town from Florida.  Wow what a difference a few days can make!

This was a busy week.   I hauled a freezer from Rockford.  Bought a designated cheese refrigerator.  I am getting closer to being able to get inspected at home.  The CHEESE SNUG is looking very cheesy. (eh, B?)  I have cheese tools, crackers, quince paste and Cheese Lady bags.  I have LaBrea bread, New Zealand honey and cheese boards.  Sometime in the next month I will be sending an invite for an open house.

What could you fit into a 5x13 foot room?

A refrigerator, a freezer, an official 3 compartment sink, a hand-washing sink, a stainless steel work table and a cart.  It will be snug.  Like one of those little snugs in the English pubs.  I looked “snug” up.  It is short for snuggery.  But snuggery is too much name for this little room.  CHEESE SNUG.  I like it.

The Cheese Lady has a website in the works.   www.thecheeselady.net   Watch for updates.  The new newsletter will be on the website every week and then archived for your future reference.  A list of all the cheeses and their availability was posted tonight.  Updated weekly.  Eventually you’ll be able to order on line and I’ll be able to have your cheeses ready to pick up, if you prefer.  By winter I hope to be doing special orders out of my CHEESE SNUG.
