BABY SHOWER IN ANN ARBOR.
GRANDBaby update - All's well. ONLY 7 WEEKS.
Greetings.
It's March. I was supposed to update my quick letter of last week, I
didn't.
Sorry. Hard as it is to believe . . . the week got away from me.
Now what were the updates? Oh, we painted the grandbaby's room.
Pink and lime sorbet. So pretty. And I got to go to Sarah's
doctor appointment and hear the baby's heartbeat! Saturday I went to a
garage sale at Todd's 1st grade teachers house. I got a bookshelf for the
baby's room. And it belonged to his 1st grade teacher, who taught him to
read! Fun.
Yesterday I had lunch with son, Nate in Chicago. Nate lives in Wicker
Park and it's always fun to tiptoe into city living. We walked around the
corner for the best BBQ!
Nate leads an active life. Last weekend he skied at Steamboat in
Colorado.
I went to Chicago to visit a company that specializes in dried foods. My
appointment yesterday was fun and informative. I saw the greatest array
of rices and beans and spices and peppers! So beautiful. There is
something about beautiful foods that leaves me awestruck. The rices were
gorgeous. Big and little. Black, green, red and yellow. And
the beans! Have you ever seen a giraffe bean? The smoked salt brought
visions of summer. And mushrooms everywhere. I'm excited.
Look for a new selection of hard-to-find-in-the-area items. Get out
those recipes you've not been able to make because the ingredients weren't
available locally. Let's get into risottos, couscous and polenta!
Great with cheese!
Tonight at the Hearthstone. Dutch cheeses.
Prima Donna young and aged.
Boorenkaas raw milk young gouda
Ewephoria sheep's milk gouda
Balarina aged goat's milk gouda.
It should be fun!
Next week . . . down on the farm.
A great variety of cheeses!
For now, I'm off.
See you soon.
