Friends of the Market are a go!
On Thursday the 13th we met with the City.
There were a few things that weren't feasable
but mostly it was a resounding "GO For IT".
On Friday, Saturday and Sunday,
the 28th, 29th and 30th of April
we will be holding the
Muskegon Market Extreme Makeover

Friends of the

Muskegon Market
Extreme Makeover
The Friends of the Market was originated in
2006.
This diverse group of volunteers,
whose numbers increase weekly, have been given the “go ahead”
by the City of
Muskegon to refurbish, enhance and promote the Muskegon Farmers Market.
The enhance and refurbish project revolves
around 3 areas.
The market building
itself will be repainted with new plantings around the building
and under the
existing sign at the entry. The 2 rows
of covered vendor booths will be repainted
and using existing holders have
flagpoles with removable colored flags rising above the roofline to
draw
attention to the Market. When the flags
are flying the Market is open! Across
Murphy Street
to the west of the Market a spot will be groomed and will host an
area with picnic tables and acoustic
entertainment on Saturdays when the Market
is open. The Gathering Spot will offer
a wonderful
atmosphere and view of the Market to its customers and friends.
In addition to the other days the Farmers
Market is open, each Saturday you find the city’s largest
multi-cultural and
demographically diverse gathering of people in Muskegon. Families, friends and
neighbors and those
that drive from miles away are all there because they want to be. Because it’s
the place to be. One of Muskegon’s Cool Spots!
