COVID-19: In these days of COVID-19 all stores are still doing some curbside service to make sure you can get your cheese, but they are open to the public too. Hours may have changed. Thank you for all your ongoing support.

Meet the Monger – Elizabeth

Posted on March 16, 2018 - Grand Rapids

Elizabeth (Liz) Ochs

How long have you worked at the Cheese Lady?

Over three and a half years. I started in July of 2014.

Favorite cheese (today) and what you like about it

Beaufort. This gruyere-style is incredibly complex and made in a way that respects the genius and heritage of cheese making.

Favorite food/dish or recipe

My German blueberry cheesecake! I use Quark, a fresh German cheese, and Blueberry Stilton to create a rich, unique cheesecake with just a touch of sweetness.

Favorite movie/book/ or band

Mean Girls/The Harry Potter series/Awolnation

What do you like best about working at the Cheese Lady?

I literally get paid to eat cheese and have other people eat cheese. It’s the best case scenario for me.

Personal tidbit of interest about you

I’m studying Mechanical Engineering at GVSU, and I already have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, German, and Mathematics. To put it succinctly, I’m a huge nerd.
